Worst Hamlet EVER

This week has gone by so fast! Less than a month before its time to go home! I love London!!!

Tuesday May 24

This week we are studying Hamlet....I, and I'm ceratin MANY MANY others have read this play at least 5times between high school and now. I was done before we started to read it in class and I will admit its not a favorite of mine. I don't hate it but I would opt to see something else before this. However, I didn't have that choice while I was in London.

This particular production was not an enjoyable evening for me or others - you know this when the production decides to have a post production after the show and there are no questions. Okay - more like 3 or 4 questions, 2 of which your professor asks and that's pretty bad considering there were about 40 U of U students and not one of them asked a question. To top it off the actor who played Hamlet wasn't even there for the discussion.

Some people say that the show was close to closing and the actors where just getting through the last performances without really giving much thought - that was definitely the case with this Hamlet - several of the other actors did an excellent job. However, when you are the lead, in this case Hamlet, and you just go through the motions it makes for a very long, antsy, boring 2hrs and 45mins.
